Onyx Bathroom

The client had an extra large rectangular ensuite that wasn't working for them, they needed a large walk in shower, better storage and layered lighting.  

The pipes were boxed in at one end of the room, which meant an additional bulk head had to be added to accommodate the width of the shower and the WC and waste pipe couldn't be hidden because of the direction of the joists. Being thoughtful about dressing the room around the pipes was important.

We shrunk the room by a quarter to allow more space in the bedroom and address the shape of the room. Instead of widening the pipe box to align with the existing boxing, we created a shelving area to add interest and lighting. A large 900mm x 1700mm shower and metre wide unit fit perfectly into the new floor space still allowing plenty of room to move around. But the materials are the showstopper in this design ... polished onyx tiles are the hero and set the tone for colourways. The knurled brushed brass handles throughout add another layer of luxe and the fluted glass shower screen adds a textured contrast to the smooth finish of the tiles. Lastly we colour drenched the whole room in Little Greens' Livid. The client now has an indulgent and luxurious space with layered lighting to wake up in the morning or start to wind down for a good nights rest.
