Customers needs

Create a space for family life and gathering friends in a relaxed and welcoming room while respecting the traditional Bath stone of the building. This is a long-dreamt for kitchen for the family to come together and enjoy entertaining, celebrating and home life.

Constraints

Differing ceiling heights made it hard to create a visual flow across the space. Unifying the traditional and modern within the building

Our solution

Use the structural elements of the building and extension to create defined areas (kitchen, pantry, dining, living) in the room. Complement the building’s warm stone with a modern kitchen style that enhances its period features

Tess was invaluable at every stage because she managed to design while thinking like a chef and using her own experience as a busy parent to come up with great solutions that didn't cost the earth.
