Kitchen Matt Modern
My customers wanted a completely white designer kitchen without handles, opening onto the living room and including their bar chairs.
The main issue was the state of the walls. Both during the design phase and when installing the units, we had to take into account the rounded shape and the poor squaring of some of the rooms walls, whilst not overlooking the wood flooring. The second issue was creating a kitchen island, which was not easy in an old flat due to all the issues linked to the electricity supply and wiring.
"We opted to install a central island to free up space, making it the central focus in the kitchen, around which people move. We put wall units on the rear wall, the sink on the left-hand wall, the induction hob and a large worktop on the island, so you can cook with a view of the living room. To include my customers ""Bertoia"" bar chairs, we created a dining area on the kitchen island. To highlight the ceiling rose we hung a very contemporary extractor hood from steel cords. Lastly, we created two decorative alcoves on either side of the column units, in a textured light-coloured oak to contrast with the rest of the kitchen and to echo the patina of the customers' display cabinet."
